Asana, connected to the rest of your company.
Asana holds a piece of your business; the manual work lives in the gaps around it. We build the automations that close those gaps, against your existing account, with a person signing off on anything that matters.
What Asana is
Asana is a cloud work management tool. Work is organised into projects made of tasks, each with an assignee, a due date, a section and custom fields. Marketing, operations and agency teams run recurring work and client projects in it. What lives in Asana is the plan: who does what by when, plus the comments and files attached to each task.
What an automation reads and writes there
- Tasks and subtasks
- Projects and their sections
- Assignees and due dates
- Custom fields such as status, priority or client
- Comments and attachments on a task
Work that gets built around Asana
Onboarding project for each new hire
HR records a new hire and a start date. A project is created in Asana from your onboarding template, with tasks assigned to HR, IT and the manager. Documents are collected, accounts are requested, training is tracked, and tasks close as steps are done. Catalogue price: $1,190 for setup and $79 per month for care.
Built as: Employee onboardingCase study into content tasks
A finished case study is added to the editorial project. Posts, a newsletter section and an article draft are prepared from it, each attached to its own task and assigned to a reviewer. Nothing is published until the reviewer marks the task approved. Catalogue price: $490 for setup and $79 per month for care.
Built as: Content factory with approvalsMeeting actions become Asana tasks
A recorded client call ends. It becomes a note and a list of actions, which are created as Asana tasks in the client's project with a proposed owner and due date, while the CRM record is updated. The account manager confirms the list before anything is created.

Before you automate against it
An automation works through an Asana account and sees only the projects that account belongs to, so use a dedicated account, not a colleague's. Sections and custom fields are what the automation reads as the state of the work. When someone renames a section or removes a field option, tasks stop being picked up.
The controls
- How we connect Through Asana's own interfaces - API where it exists, structured exports and the mailbox where it does not. Nothing installed inside your Asana account behind your back.
- What usually gets built Data leaving Asana into invoices, CRM records and reports; data arriving into Asana from orders, forms and mail - the retyping in both directions is the work that disappears.
- The controls A written spec, a full run record, an approval queue for consequential steps, and a signed proof afterwards. The same four controls every OAKMONT automation runs with.
Common questions
- Does Asana have an API for creating tasks from outside?Yes. Asana has a documented public API that covers tasks, projects, sections, custom fields and comments, and it can notify an outside system when a task changes. An automation can therefore both write tasks into a project and react when a person completes or reassigns one.
- Asana has built-in rules. When is more needed?Rules in Asana move tasks, set fields and assign people inside Asana. They do not read a recording, collect a signed document from a new employee or draft a newsletter from a case study. When work starts or ends outside Asana, the part outside is what has to be built.
- Can OAKMONT automate Asana?Yes - Asana is on the creator's systems list, and automations are built against your existing account through its own interfaces. Describe the workflow and a person replies with a fixed quote.
- What does a Asana automation cost?Catalogue prices start at $490 for a single delivered workflow, with care from $79/month. The fixed price for your case is confirmed by a person in writing before any work starts.
- Is our Asana data safe?Every automation runs with a written spec and a full run record, consequential steps wait for human approval, and for work that must never leave your building there is the Private AI Box - the whole stack on your own hardware.
