Airtable, connected to the rest of your company.
Airtable holds a piece of your business; the manual work lives in the gaps around it. We build the automations that close those gaps, against your existing account, with a person signing off on anything that matters.
What Airtable is
Airtable is a cloud database with the face of a spreadsheet. A base contains tables, tables contain records with typed fields and links to other tables, and views show filtered slices of the same data. Operations, marketing and product teams build their own trackers in it: stock lists, editorial calendars, applicant lists, order logs. It is often the company's home-made system.
What an automation reads and writes there
- Records in a table
- Fields such as single select, date and attachment
- Linked records between tables
- Files attached to a record
- Views used as work queues
Work that gets built around Airtable
Applicants base kept up to date
A CV arrives. It is parsed into a record in the applicants table, linked to the open role and given a match summary. Recruiters work from a view of new records; outreach is sequenced, and each automated step is written to a log table. Catalogue price: $1,190 for setup and $79 per month for care.
Built as: Recruiting pipeline with the paperworkProduct table to approved descriptions
A product record without a description is picked up from a view. A draft and its Polish, German and English versions are written into draft fields and the status is set to review. A person sets it to approved, and only then does the text leave Airtable for the store.
Built as: Product content for storesReturns logged and decided by policy
A return request comes in by mail or form. It is classified, decided against your written policy and answered with a return label, and a record is added to the returns table. Cases the policy does not cover appear in a view for a person to decide.
Built as: Returns and complaints desk
Before you automate against it
Airtable is shaped by the people who use it, so the structure moves: a field is renamed, a select option is added, a table is copied. An automation that relies on those names stops matching. Access goes through a token limited to chosen bases and to reading or writing; issue it from a dedicated account.
The controls
- How we connect Through Airtable's own interfaces - API where it exists, structured exports and the mailbox where it does not. Nothing installed inside your Airtable account behind your back.
- What usually gets built Data leaving Airtable into invoices, CRM records and reports; data arriving into Airtable from orders, forms and mail - the retyping in both directions is the work that disappears.
- The controls A written spec, a full run record, an approval queue for consequential steps, and a signed proof afterwards. The same four controls every OAKMONT automation runs with.
Common questions
- Can Airtable be the database behind an automation? For trackers and registers, yes. Airtable has a documented public API that reads, creates and updates records, including linked records and attachments. For bookkeeping or anything that needs a fixed audit trail it is better to keep the master data in the accounting or order system and let Airtable hold the working copy.
- How does approval work when the data sits in Airtable?A status field and a view do the job. Drafts are written with the status set to review, a person opens the view, reads and changes the status, and only approved records move on. Steps with consequences outside Airtable, such as sending a message to a customer, wait in the approval queue as well.
- Can OAKMONT automate Airtable?Yes - Airtable is on the creator's systems list, and automations are built against your existing account through its own interfaces. Describe the workflow and a person replies with a fixed quote.
- What does a Airtable automation cost?Catalogue prices start at $490 for a single delivered workflow, with care from $79/month. The fixed price for your case is confirmed by a person in writing before any work starts.
- Is our Airtable data safe?Every automation runs with a written spec and a full run record, consequential steps wait for human approval, and for work that must never leave your building there is the Private AI Box - the whole stack on your own hardware.
